In the early Salthouse Marriage Register on 7th January 1880, we find a Margaret Christianna Matthews (daughter of Robert Matthews, Blacksmith), married William Pigott, Sailor of Salthouse (son of William Pigott, shoemaker of Salthouse). The two families were possibly living together, and William was perhaps away at sea on the census day..
